Wildlife Photography
Photography of nature is an exciting and rewarding adventure. Among the important categories of photography, wildlife photography is the most adventurous and challenging. The ability to view wildlife, eye to eye, in their habitat is a remarkable experience. Capturing this experience photographically is a bountiful trophy that can be enjoyed and shared for a lifetime. The trophy is worth all of the challenges endured during the adventure. This adventure provides a unique opportunity to observe the intricacies of old Mother Nature and the harmony of the varied habitats and organisms. There is nothing I can think of more exciting than capturing a spectacular image of a wild creature or organism in its natural habitat.
It is most important; you know your equipment, prior your adventure and photographical episode.  Becoming familiar with your equipment at the time of the actual shoot could result in loss of the exact valued moment to be photographed. Become familiar and efficient with the set-up, lens changing, connecting and disconnecting the tripod, and all switches and settings, for example; the switch to set manual to auto focus.  When in the dense wilderness, your manual lens is required, make use of manual lenses to obtain the best results. Insure that your camera battery is fully charged prior to your photography experience. Camera equipment is most important, to forget your camera is like a hunter forgetting their hunting equipment. However; a compass or GPS (Ground Positioning System) is the most important piece of equipment carried into the wilderness. If you get lost in the wilderness it rarely results in happy endings. The most important person in your endeavor is your guide.

When you began your endeavor, remember, the wilderness can be extremely dangerous and is often unpredictable. Always remember you are a quest in the wilderness, follow the wilderness code of ethics during your adventure, never harass the wildlife, disrupt, or molest their environment. Obtain a guide, a guide can take you to the subject of your encounter and return you safely. Having a Guide can save you a great deal of time and disappointment; this will allow you more time with your selected target. .       It¢s not always possible traveling to exotic locations or spending days, weeks, or even months tracking animals. Begin preparing by traveling to nearby local, state, or national park, or your local zoo or even a petting park. Observe animals in their habits and try to capture them photographically. This will aid you in identifying particular animals and familiarizing yourself with species and habitats. Like the professional, utilize experience guides, knowledgeable of the desired region, target, or habitat you wish to capture.

Collect your camera, get out there and capture those terrific images. I would truly love to see your work. Email me with your photograph; I may post it on the site for the world to see, at wildernesscalls.com.
