Another year has come and gone and Wilderness Calls has grown with leaps and bounds in 2011! The year started out with the staff of Wilderness Calls traveling to the frozen tundra of Little Rock, Ark. We were advised it would not be snowing, but as usual, the weather man was wrong. Now, here was a sight to see, the Wise Old Redneck Guru trying to pull the Wilderness Calls trailer in all that snow! The freezing cold was soon warmed by the generosity of the show staff and the thousands of people that visited the Big Buck Expo. The Double "D" gravity deer feeder was a big hit at the show and the Wilderness Calls staff left Little Rock without a feeder left. The next few weeks would be spent building deer feeders and traveling back to Ark. to fulfill all of the orders.
In February, March and April the Redneck Guru and guides of Wilderness Calls continued to improve the Double "D" gravity deer feeders and finalize the True Dirt cover scent. The True Dirt cover scent was perfected and became an instant hit when hunting season rolled around. Through continuous research and a bit of luck, the Redneck Guru figured out how to eliminate the pesky coons from the Double "D" gravity deer feeders.
In May the staff loaded up the Wilderness Calls trailer and headed to Midland, TX. This trip taught the Redneck Guru and staffs the definition of a head wind in TX. The wind changed the gas millage from 15 miles per gallon to 8 miles per gallon. We will tell you it had finally quit blowing by the time we headed back. The show was a success for Wilderness Calls. The staff of the trade show was great and the Guru figured out that rednecks and cowboys had a lot in common.
June was spent getting ready for the real trade show season. The Legislature of Ga. passed a supplementary feed law that made the Double "D" gravity deer feeder even more popular. The orders began to roll in and the feeders were delivered. Distributors were signed to the Wilderness Calls family, from Ga. to Ark. The future for these individuals representing Wilderness Calls looks to be bright!
In July and August the Wilderness Calls staff traveled from town to town in the states of Fla., Ga., Al. and Tx. It was a busy two months and the Double "D" gravity deer feeders continued to grow in popularity. The retail stores ordered even more of the doe-n-heat estrous and the staff of Wilderness Calls scrambled to keep up.
In September, time was spent bracing the company for the trip to Moultrie Ga. in October. Supplies were gathered and feeders constructed in anticipation of the biggest trade show of the year.
When October rolled around the Wilderness Calls trailer was loaded to the point, the sides were bulging out. The staff rolled into Moultrie and as usual the staff of the show did everything in their power to make us feel like we were very important. At the end of the show, the company had sold out of several items and a lot of empty boxes were left behind.
November and December gave the staff time to prepare for the upcoming year. When the year ended Wilderness Calls had become a real player in the hunting industry. We are looking forward to this next year being even better than 2011!
The CEO of Wilderness Calls would like to take this time to thank everyone that helped 2011 to become the biggest year to date for our young company. From the people that we deal with to get our stock and supplies to the individuals that continues to spread the word about Wilderness Calls. WE THANK YOU!!!
