In 2009 Wilderness Calls attended five trade shows, which were a huge success. In 2010 Wilderness Calls will be attending several trade shows. We are providing information on when and where the trade shows will be held, that Wilderness Calls will be attending. This will give everyone a chance to meet the staff and of course the Wise Old Redneck Guru, himself. After each trade show a review will be posted. We are looking forward to meeting people this year from the many diverse areas of the southeastern United States of America. Do not hesitate to stop by one of the trade shows and say hello!

The staff and consession stand gets a A and the overall score for the show is B+.
Wilderness Calls has completed it's second trade show for 2010 and we are looking forward to the rest of the trade shows later in the year. The "Tampa Tribune Outdoor Expo and Boat Show" was different than any trade show we have attended. The show was filled with boats and fishing equipment of every size and shape. The crowd varied from day to day. On Friday when the doors were opened, you would have thought everyone in Tampa, Florida was at the show. The aisles were packed with people! Then on Saturday and Sunday the crowds were more evenly flowing. The staff at the show was very helpful in directing us to where we needed to set up our home away from home. As the show went on, the staff of Wilderness Calls made friends with the nice people running the concession stand. I would give them folks an "A+"! They helped us with ice and cleaning of our cooking pots, which was more than appreciated by the Staff of Wilderness Calls. The rest of the staff at the show were friendly and we even met Mr. Frank the founder of the show! They made us feel welcome, even though we did not have a single fishing pole in our booth. To the staff of the Tampa Tribune Outdoor Expo and Boat, I would have to give them an "A". I am not sure if it was because we were a hunting company or if the people attending the show were surprised to see us there, but some of the crowd was less then friendly. We met some really nice people at the show, but it seemed to be a more stand offish crowd than what we have been used to. As always, we were glad to see the amount of children and young people at an outdoor show. This was a positive part of the show as always, for the children are the future for hunting as well as fishing. The crowd gets a "C", but that does not reflect on the staff or other venders that were at the show. This will give our experience at the Tampa Tribune Outdoor Expo and Boat a "B+" and we hope to attend again next year.

The staff of the Northwest Georgia Hunting & Fishing Expo gets a B Plus
The trade show season is officially underway for Wilderness Calls. On January 14, 2010 the Wilderness Calls trailer was loaded and headed north on Interstate 75, to Dalton, Georgia. It was the first annual Northwest Georgia Hunting & Fishing Expo trade show. (Do not miss the Wise Old Redneck Guru's version of the adventure through Atlanta, Georgia.) James and I arrived in Dalton, Georgia around 3:30 P.M. and our first impression was, " WOW! This is a small trade show! " We were greeted with warm smiles and all the help we needed however, to get set up. It felt as if we were in a huge trade show what with all the staff being very professional and friendly. When the doors opened on Friday morning we were ready for the big show! The people that attended the trade show were also very friendly and made us feel at home. Some of the venders we had met before and it was nice to see familiar faces. We quickly made some new friends with new venders and shared ideas. This was the first time a hunting trade show had been held in Dalton, Georgia, but I am sure it will not be the last. Wilderness Calls will be returning to Dalton next year to participate in the second annual Northwest Georgia Hunting & Fishing Expo trade show. For the size, I would give it a C and for the staff and organization, I would have to give them a B plus. With this combination I am sure in the future it will grow to become one of the bigger trade shows in northern Georgia.
